The CNA - Infection Control class introduces entry-level healthcare workers to all aspects of infection control. Students will learn to protect their clients, their loved ones, and themselves. Topic covered include: how infection spreads, preventing the spread of infection through the use of personal protective equipment and environmental cleanliness, and managing infection control in a Covid-19 world.

The nurse aide module is the core course of the Certified Nurse Aide training and apprenticeship program. There are three components.
1. Virtual classroom lecture with a live instructor via Zoom teleconferencing.
2. Live skills laboratory training and practice
3. Clinical experience in a nursing home
Participants must successfully complete all three components to pass the course.
This 15-hour module prepares students to work with dementia patients using appropriate language, movement, and understanding of the condition.
This 40-hour course brings practicing general nurse aides back to the classroom to prepare for their State of Michigan Certified Nurse Aide examination.
Participants will bring their experience in the field to the classroom as they review the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully pass the examination.
This course will be offered only when Prometric, the State of Michigan CNA testing body re-opens certification examination services.
This course is designed to teach the core skills and knowledge necessary to function as an Informal Caregiver in a home setting. Participants will learn basic caregiving skills; explore legal, social, and emotional issues; understand and implement client privacy; gain an understanding of nutrition, communicable diseases; and more.
This course is designed to provide high school students an introduction to the world of construction and the various careers within the field in general. Students will explore the soft skills necessary to be successful in the field, career options for the entry-level worker through professional journeyperson, essential safety, equipment, specialization areas, etc. will be discussed.

Participants will learn about the educational requirements of various introductory careers in healthcare as well as the work conditions, typical tasks for each position, average income, etc.

Students will explore the soft skills necessary to be successful in the field, essential safety, repair shop equipment, introduction to automobile systems and their purposes will be discussed.
